Global Incubator Dates And Deadlines

April 25, 2019

Are You Ready To Take Your Fund To The Next Level?

Our team continues to be amazed and impressed by the funds applying to  to our Global Emerging Manager Incubator Program ahead of the May 1st deadline. We continue to receive applications from all over the world everywhere from (but not limited to) Sydney to Tel Aviv to Mumbai to London to San Francisco and New York City. We believe this will be our most global class yet! Since this post is focused more around the program, we want to tell you what we look for in applicants in order to better your chances of getting accepted.

We know that funds come to us at varying stages and levels of their business from new launches to the more seasoned funds. We will look at them all within each of their corresponding contexts. So…what are the three core things we look for in building a class? They are as follows:

#1 Your Team (even if it is just a party of one!)

#2 Your Business Operations

#3 Your Performance Within The Context of Your Strategy and Within The Context of The Overall Landscape

What’s New For This Spring 2019 Class?

We continue to add more to our program! Our goal continues to be to build a global class where funds can collaborate, network, build and grow their businesses. This is why we are excited about integrating the Experts-in-Residence concept into the program in bringing on our Spring 2019 Class. The Experts-in-Residence concept is about giving our incubatees added dedicated specialists to work with them in further developing their businesses. We will be adding two professionals, one focused heavily on operational management and the second focused on financial management. These have been two areas where funds struggle the greatest, so we are excited to offer this resource exclusively to our Incubatees. Additionally, we are welcoming an Expert-in-Residence who has a background as an institutional investor that has actively invested across emerging manager strategies allowing our Incubatees greater insights on how to source, secure and close deals!

Check out the dates and deadlines below and be sure to mark them in your calendar!

A Note On the Program

Why did we integrate the Experts-In-Residence concept into the program? We believe the Experts-in-Residence is an important concept to integrate into the Global Emerging Manager Incubator because it offers funds added value and expertise to help them in growing and expanding their businesses. One of the most commonly noted concerns by institutional investors from across the board was that emerging managers do not have the foundational understanding of how to first build and scale a fund business and then secondly how to design and create their business in away that investors want to flock towards.

As an investor looks to invest into a fund, they want to better understand its value proposition and for early-stage investors (i.e. seeders and anchors) looking to invest into a fund and the management company, they need to know what are the abilities of the management team to create long-term value outside of pure portfolio management. Do they understand how to build a solid team and further work towards building an infrastructure that has the potential to rival a USD$1 Billion or USD$10 Billion+ investment management firm. Our program looks at how to help funds bridge the gap on how to not only build that core foundation, but also how to build and create value long-term further attracting and engaging institutional investors to invest with them.
